We all know that fruits and vegetables are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber, but getting enough can sometimes feel like a challenge. The good news? Adding more of these nutrient powerhouses to your day can be easy and delicious! Here are some simple tips to boost your intake:
1. Start Your Day with Produce
Add berries or sliced bananas to your oatmeal, yogurt, or cereal.
Blend spinach or kale into your morning smoothie—promise, you won’t taste it!
Try an omelet loaded with mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes.
2. Snack Smart
Keep pre-cut veggies like carrots, cucumbers, and bell peppers on hand for quick snacking.
Pair apple slices with nut butter or hummus with snap peas for a satisfying crunch.
Freeze grapes or berries for a refreshing, naturally sweet treat.
3. Make Your Meals Colorful
Add extra veggies to soups, pasta sauces, and stir-fries.
Toss spinach or arugula into sandwiches, wraps, or even pizza.
Swap out half of your rice or pasta for riced cauliflower, spiralized zucchini.
4. Get Creative with Sweets
Blend frozen bananas into “nice cream” for a healthy dessert.
Bake with applesauce or mashed sweet potato instead of butter.
Mix shredded zucchini or carrots into muffins and pancakes.
5. Make It Fun & Easy
Try a "Meatless Monday" with a veggie-packed dish.
Challenge yourself to try a new fruit or vegetable each week.
Keep a bowl of fresh fruit where you can see it for an easy grab-and-go option.
